Her post about the pattern: Pink Elephant Violet Blouse

What kind of fabric did you use? It’s 100% cotton with elephants all over it!

How did you decide to reflect your personal style in the pattern? I am a sucker for piping (& ricrac!) and I believe in showing off this blouse’s key feature, its pretty collar. I have to say that the bright pink elephant-strewn fabric is a departure for me and I was worried it would turn out to be a blouse suitable only for weekend fun (or bedtime!). Adding the piping, the contrast thread and large buttons was my attempt to help it to grow up a bit, and I’m glad to say that it has passed the “wear to the office” test with flying colours.

What thoughts do you have about the project? Well, I love the Violet blouse. I adore its collar, neckline & the gathered yoke, and think it’s a really pretty & useful blouse. In my view it is one of the perfect styles that can double up for work or for fun whilst reflecting a bit of character. I have so many ideas for other versions of Violet blouses, I have to stop myself and sew something else! I am going to be wearing my three Violets for the “OWOP” One Week One Pattern Challenge organised by Tilly and the Buttons during March.

Thanks, Winnie!

Awesome! Love the edging on the skirt too. Being a knitter I would call it a scalloped edge, is that right for sewing? Gorgeous whatever it’s called :)

Yes, you’d call it the same in sewing. :)
