Lovely things to choose from and so many bird prints! I would probably choose the Graceful Birds Cotton Lawn…love the color and the print.

Liz

November 2, 2011 #

I love Harts Fabric! I would use the Birch Fabric Wheels and Birds on grey for the Peony dress. And add a red belt. http://www.hartsfabric.com/birch-fabrics-avalon-bird-organic62128.html

I think I’d make a slightly tweaked version in the Tree People Silk Georgette. What a unique print with lovely colors!

Too much great options. The peony is such a versatile pattern and would look great in a light wool for winter and some printed cotton for the summer.
I would make one version of the dress in cheetah rayon challis http://www.hartsfabric.com/rayon-challis-leopard-fabric61794.html and that would solve my problem of wanting a sexy demure leopard dress.
Then I would also make a nice cocktail dress with the Hemp Silk in Cranberry http://www.hartsfabric.com/hemp-silk-fabric61047.html This would be the perfect backgroud for wonderful jewelry and some black gloves

Elinor

I would make a Peony out of this beautiful Nano Iro double gauze: http://www.hartsfabric.com/nani-iro-double-gauze-fabric-fashion-apparel-fabrics-cotton62029.html
Thanks for the great giveaways!

I love dots, so I would make the Peony in Black Cotton Dotted Swiss Fashion Fabric (http://www.hartsfabric.com/black-dotted-swiss-fabric57772.html) for a perfect little black dress with a subtle twist.

Yes! I would like to make it in the Red Organic Cotton Chambray Shirting (http://www.hartsfabric.com/organic-cotton-fabric-chambray62071.html) or Yarn Dyed Cotton Fabric Shirt Check Blue (http://www.hartsfabric.com/yarn-dyed-checked-fabric61010.html).

Thank you!

November 2, 2011 #

I would make Peony in the Plum Cotton Spandex Velveteen. I’d make short sleeves and add some sort of side tab belts with buttons or find a cool buckle or two for the tabs since velveteen won’t work as a ruched belt. Oh so many ideas!

So many lovely choices! Two of my favorites were the Violet Velveteen (http://www.hartsfabric.com/velveteen-fabric52113.html) and the Mango Seersucker (http://www.hartsfabric.com/seersucker-mango-cotton-64097.html). I also think Peony would be cute in Far Far Away 2 (http://www.hartsfabric.com/heather-ross-fabric57930.html)!

I know it’s a bit heavier weight than recommended, but I’d have to find a way to make the Black Lace Topped White Wool (item 60375) work. Stunning!

I’d make a long-sleeved version out of Anna Sui Tiny Check Fashion and Apparel Fabric Wool Blend, Item #: 58506. http://www.hartsfabric.com/anna-sui-fashion-fabric58506.html. Easy to wear and accessorize dress for work, and good for biking to/from work, too.

November 2, 2011 #

Oh so many to choose from! I think Anna Maria Horner’s Dusty Violet First Impression Velveteen fabric would however be perfect. The fabric would make the dress really cosy for winter but would give it that extra wow factor appeal.

November 2, 2011 #

I would have to say that I would want 2 fabrics for the Peony – the mid length sleeve. The outer fabric would be this designer knit wool white fashion fabric:
http://www.hartsfabric.com/wool-knit-fashion-couture-designer-fabric53540.html
And the lining would then be this Sky Blue Silk Noil fabric:
http://www.hartsfabric.com/35176.html

With a pair of navy heels how do you go wrong?!?!

November 2, 2011 #

yes! i’m always up for a fabric giveaway! it’s our drug of choice :)
so many of the hart’s fabrics would be good, but for me it’s a toss up between the black floral eyelet and one of the gorgeous liberty prints. i’d probably go with a liberty print as i rarely splurge for it and a gift certificate would justify it totally!
great giveaway! thanks sarai and hart’s fabric!

November 2, 2011 #

Oh my goodness! What a great giveaway and thanks for the introduction to a great fabric shop.

Hmm, I would go with the Raw Silk Tweed with Silver Lurex and make a pretty holiday dress. I think that would be beautiful. Then I’d make another one out of a Liberty print or Nano Iro double-gauze for spring!

I love Hart’s! It was absolutely my favorite part of living in Santa Cruz. I would love to make Peony in the beige Nani Iro abstract specks double gauze fabric

November 2, 2011 #

Yay, a new online fabric store! Not sure if this is right for a dress, but I do at least love the idea of plaid wood for the Peony as a holiday dress:
http://www.hartsfabric.com/plaid-wool-fabric60906.html.

I love the description and would repeat it while wearing the dress, “This wool fabric says no to cold weather…while saying yes to classy!” And now you’ve got me thinking I should get the Peony pattern and make it in a plaid – well played! ;)

Paige @ luxperdiem

November 2, 2011 #

This would be super cute! I would do the sash belt area in a bright pop of something, maybe a coral or teal?

I could totally use the 100$ giftcard as well, I just bought the book and see myself in some serious of need to fabric to complete all the amazing patterns you included!

What a great giveaway! But really hard to choose… I think I would take the silk cotton sateen fabric slate for the dress and various other shades of that fabric for different sashes, so I could change. E.g. crimson, pink and the chartruese one. But first of all I’m going to make one from dark red dupioni with a sash covered with black lace… :-)
