Palette Challenge: Sarai’s Moodboard

I feel a little bit like Caitlin and I have switched personalities for this challenge. She’s going to post her moodboard tomorrow and you’ll see that she’s going for the sweet pastels that I usually gravitate towards. Meanwhile, I’m doing some brighter and deeper colors.

I’ve been loving coral and cornflower blue lately, and have amassed quite a few fabrics in those colors. It’s time to start using them! I’ve also noticed that I often long to wear really pale neutrals in the Spring and Summer, like white, ivory, and cream. So I’m planning some white and ivory dresses, and a little light camel jacket.

I’m happy to be adding more blue to my wardrobe. I was obsessed with blue for a period in my early twenties (and even had very dark indigo blue hair for quite a while), but haven’t worn it as much in recent years. Perhaps I’m headed for another blue period.

Oh, I love corals. (I have always heard that coral is the one color that every skin tone, hair color, and style sense can pull off well) I am more into darker blues right now. (I think this is the 3rd day in a row that my outfit has been navy and white or cream based…) Now, is it weird that sometimes I feel uncomfortable in white, where creams and ivories never fail to comfort? It is that white is too stark sometimes for my very moody wardrobe choices? Possibly. I always wear my mood.

What a pretty mood board and palette, Sarai! I love the coral dress and the blue floral one. I’m all about sapphire and periwinkle lately.

Blue mad here too at the moment, so far I have made a cornflower blue linen skirt, blue Liberty floral shirt, blue silk dress and am about to sew some blue pants. I’m trying to stay away from black!

There are two links to the floral wiggle dress – any chance of a link to the large scale floral dress?
