I love Charley Harper and adore his prints. I was beside myself with excitement when I found out there was going to be Charley Harper fabric!!! If I was lucky enough to win I would love to upholster some mid-century chairs in this fabric, I think they would look amazing!

GASP! I love his work, I love birds, I love fabric – so amazing! I would make a duvet cover!

I love those prints, adore the nature themes. I’d probably make a dress, or a killer jacket.

Lisa

I would totally use some of the canvas for a new tote and the knits for some comfy tees! Too adorable!

5 yards is enough to make a fall Laurel!! I’m really into the charley harper bold prints and subtle , flattering fall colors.

Carol

November 1, 2013 #

I’m most excited about the knits. I’m trying to my my own workout/yoga clothes so 5 yards would go a long way!

I adore the colors in these fabrics! Just beautiful. I would use teh fabric to make Christmas presents for all my family and friends. And someone for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I’m excited for this new collection because I love birch fabrics and everything they produce! The fabric is so lovely, the patterns and colors are modern, fresh and whimsical without sacrificing classic style. If I had access to five yards of this gorgeous stuff I would definitely make a little knit dress, and probably some leggings. Or a cowl-neck tee. the possibilities are really endless.

Rita

November 1, 2013 #

That collection sounds amazing! I’m most excited about knits and the canvas, as there’s not a great selection (that I’ve found, at least) of cute prints in either knits or in canvas. I don’t use too much canvas/home dec fabric, but it is great for bags, which I’ll be making several of now that gift making season is approaching. What would I do with five yards of fabric? Depending on the fabric, I’d probably make one thing for myself (either Madeleine mini bloomers or a Sorbetto), and use the rest for holiday gifts: shopping tote bags, lunch bags, pajama’s for my bf’s niece and nephew, and I’d make bias tape from the scraps. I could do a lot with five yards! :)

Dorien

November 1, 2013 #

Whaaaaaat???? A birch fabrics giveaway? I’ve been hunting down their knits for a long time now, but they are very, very hard to find in europe and I don’t own a creditcard to do an overseas order, so this made my night. I’m especially excited to see all those birdies- I think I’d pick the bottom one if I won, to make a knit wrap dress because I really need one. Plus, I’d really fit in with the birds in our cherrytree :-) and maybe I could squeeze an extra miniature version out of those 5 yards for my niece. Oh!!

Caitlyn M.

November 1, 2013 #

I’m excited about Charley Harper because it can be difficult to source organic fabrics, let alone prints (especially ones as cute at those!) With 5 yards, I’d either dive into sewing with knits and make a t-shirt and pajama pants, or make a dress to wake up my boring, solid-filled wardrobe.

Ro Lohman

November 1, 2013 #

I’ve loved Charlie Harper’s work ever since I first became aware of design as a seriously design-starved engineering undergrad. I have his book “Beguiled by the wild” and am now enjoying sharing that with my two little girls. With 5 yards, I’d be able to make matching dresses for myself, the girls AND their dolls!

Nina H

November 1, 2013 #

I never win these things, but CHARLEY HARPER FABRIC?!?! Charley Harper designs are boss! So mid-century! So graphic! So naturey! What WOULD I do with 5 yards?…1950’s coat dress- definitely. :)

Caitlin Orbanek

November 1, 2013 #

5 yards! That definitely sounds like a dress for me and a top for my sister. Or maybe bags for my whole family for Christmas in a fun canvas. Or receiving blankets for my two close friends who are expecting. So many ideas!

Christina

November 1, 2013 #

I love these fabrics–the colour and design are amazing. And I have been longing to find just the right knit to make a dress. Thanks for organizing this giveaway

I love the beautiful prints on organic, garment-weight fabric! I’d make some clothes for my children – should get at least 2 sets of pj’s out of the 5 yards.

I love this fabric and I would make myself a jasmine top and I would make all my girlfriends and sisters xmas knickers based on these ohhhlulu knickers:

November 1, 2013 #

I have been sewing for less than a year, and I’m ever so excited to make spring and summer outfits! I’ve already made 3 dresses and a skirt. I’d love this fabric to extend my future wardrobe and to also not be so dependent on stores for fashion. My new mantra is, “If you want it.. go out and make it!”

I’d make dresses, PJs, headbands, skirts, tanks, everything!

mjb

November 1, 2013 #

Ooh, I’d love a sparrow peony or laurel! There would be some leftovers for kids’ clothes too.

Nina

November 1, 2013 #

Argh, I’ve been waiting and waiting for those Charley Harper flannels to come out! I swore off non-organic cotton a few years ago so beautiful organic prints, especially on apparel fabric, are very exciting to me. I really want to make completely embarrassing his’n’hers pyjamas for me and my boyfriend – Octoberama in blue for him and red for me. Wouldn’t we look ridiculous? In a good way?!

angela

November 1, 2013 #

A. Umm, adorable!
B. 5 yards! I don’t want to sound cheesy, but my daughter and I would have matching dresses.

Manja

November 1, 2013 #

I love mid century modern everything! So i love Charley Harper and Charlie Harper as well ;). These amazing fabrics are hard to come by in The Netherlands so i would be extra extra happy. I think i would make a Peony dress and a little Peter pan dollar dress for my daughter. Or a Nice pencil skirt, or a great lining in a winter coat, or beautiful pillows or curtains in a mid century modern cabinet or bed covers, or..

Hayley

November 1, 2013 #

Charley Harper is a creative genius and I love the birds, dandelions and colors in his fabrics!
If I won, I’d jump up and down on my bed. Then I’d make a few tote bags as gifts, a skirt for myself, and frame some fabric!

Julia

November 1, 2013 #

Oh my goodness! The prints are amazing! I would love to make a dress in some of these prints! Maybe even squeeze out a lathing skirt for my daughter too!!

katy

Lindsay Nair

November 1, 2013 #

Its so tough to find great fabric for kids in Las Vegas. I am forced to order online nearly all of the time – I’m loving the new line and the selection that they have! I would use the fabric for my little boy and our daughter who we are adopting in the next couple of months.

Tanja

November 1, 2013 #

I am excited that they have the designs in different kinds of textile! And if I won, I’d get some knits and some flannels and make lounge wear for my family

I’ve been looking for material for new regalia for months. I learned to sew this year and made one dress but it’s time to make another. The fabric needs to be cotton this time. I’ve been looking at the local fabric stores for months and have not yet found fabric that feels right. It’s exciting to find new fabrics that not everyone else is dancing in that I like!
So with 5 yards of fabric, I’d make myself some new regalia for this coming pow wow season.

M. Wilbanks

November 1, 2013 #

Wow– a Charley Harper canvas bag!!? YEAH! I am excited to wear some awesome Harper birds! I would sew up some shoulder bags with 5 yards, as I am trying to open an online shop to sell some stuffs!

November 1, 2013 #

I love Charley Harper and I have been a fan for years and years. I would use the fabric to make a quit for ME. Yes ME. Maybe the one from International Quilt Festival Quilt Scene 2013/2014 mag. and if there’s any left over I’d make PJs, because I love PJs.

Jess Z

November 1, 2013 #

I’d love to make some pj’s for myself and a few things for my daughter. She’s 5 months and I have a couple of dress patterns that I need to get started on.

Dana

November 1, 2013 #

As a birder, these patterns feature some of my favorites and they look so cozy it only makes sense that they come in flannel! I’ve been trying to get the cardinal stagger in flannel for a while, but it’s always “Coming Soon” or “Out of Stock.” I’d love to make a pair of old-fashioned pajamas to wear for opening presents on Christmas morning!

Karen

November 1, 2013 #

The new collection has such cute prints, and I love the color combinations. With 5 yards, I would sew up some cute jersey dresses.

Erin Hill

November 1, 2013 #

im excited about this fabric because in the dreary winter the playful colour would cheer anyone up. I belive i might make the new zinna skirt, or perhaps a hawthorn, ive also got my eye on a Tova dress/top :)

Abbey

November 1, 2013 #

My life is incomplete because I do not currently have a top with birds on it! Darling.

Amy

November 1, 2013 #

Nature, birds, bugs, polkadots – what’s not to love?! I’d make something for my future baby’s room. Five yards could make us matching outfits, too! Hahahaha!

Kasi

November 1, 2013 #

I was so thrilled to see Charley Harper on fabric, have loved his prints for a long time! I would probably make a new Wiksten Tova with the fabric, and save some for a patchwork pillow as well!

Angela.

November 1, 2013 #

I must agree – completely adorable, and to have organic knits with great patterns is a dream come true. Like the others, a dress – probably from a Cake pattern – is definitely on the list of what I would make. Also, I have a sweet niece that would love a dress. I love the colors and will be adding some to my fabric collection soon! Full disclosure – I do not NEED more fabric, but can’t really resist these new choices.

Lelia

November 1, 2013 #

I’m most excited for those knits!! It’s always a challenge to find non- juvenile but still fun knits, and those are perfect! I love the blue with puffs and would turn into a maxi-dress.

Linda

November 1, 2013 #

I love Charlie Harper Prints! They are so beautiful!
What would I do with 5 yards- that is the hardest question because I can think of so many projects I would want to complete! It would be hard to narrow it down!

Chris Wilson

November 1, 2013 #

Birds and squirrels, ladybugs, and trees . What’s not to like? I particularly like the October Edibles fabric, with its cardinal and squirrel motif. I think the vertical lines would make for an interesting shirtdress. Or maybe it, combined with the Bank Swallow Fall, Twig Fall Shroom, and maybe Ladybugs for an interesting colorblock dress or skirt.

Fresa Handmade

November 1, 2013 #

I love Charley Harper’s style. It strikes a balance between whimsical, sophisticated and modern. I think these fabrics would make great curtains in the nursery of my first child.

Lorraine

November 1, 2013 #

I was unaware of this new line, but it looks like a lot of fun. I have a new niece that I would enjoy making clothes for.

Ellen

November 1, 2013 #

Oh, I love these fabrics! They are so creative and fun. I’d love to make a bag, plus pretty much all my friends are pregnant, so it’s time to make something nice and warm for the little ones arriving in the middle of winter :).

Diane Hudson

November 1, 2013 #

I love the fabulous colour combinations and crisp, clean lines of the designs. I’d make my favourite shirtdress pattern if I won, with a little bit left over for a matching tote bag!

Mary M

November 1, 2013 #

These are super cute and I love the colors- more earthy and blues. The logical choice for me would be a dress and maybe a nice bag to go with it.

Margaret Gibb

November 1, 2013 #

Each print is so cute! I would get started on some holiday gifts!

AmandaT

November 1, 2013 #

I’m excited about the fabrics because I love Charley Harper illustrations, and this provides another way to display them. I’d make a great skirt for myself, then use the rest for bags for Christmas presents to share the love around my family.

Wendy TC

November 1, 2013 #

I love Charley Harper and own a number of his needlepoint canvas designs. I would use the fabric to make a project bag for my stitching.

Beth

November 1, 2013 #

I have been waiting for this collection to come out…I am excited that the fabrics feature so many Charley Harper birds! I would probably use part of the 5 yards to back a quilt made from more of the collection.

Kat

November 1, 2013 #

Charley Harper is a stone classic, great for both kids and adult projects.

I would be tempted to make a button down shirtdress for myself. :)

Jeni

November 1, 2013 #

I love the bold, repeating patterns and the wonderful stylized birds- they remind me of the tessellation projects I used to do in art class. I’ve got my eye especially on the twig pattern, because I can’t help but see the eight-pronged twig as a very stylized menorah, and the teal and mineral colors are just begging to be made into the most understated yet perfect Hanukkah dress ever! With five yards I could make a dress for myself, a matching headband, and a Hanukkah gift for my sister (maybe a cute pincushion since she quilts).

Marissa

November 1, 2013 #

I love Charley Harper’s designs and have been waiting for them to come out in fabrics for a long time! I would make a messenger bag and maybe a clutch if there’s any fabric left.

Shelley Gibb

November 1, 2013 #

Hadn’t heard of Charley Harper, had a look at the designs – would be hard to choose. I’m imagining all kinds of lovely home projects, but it’s hard to resist a frock.

Stephanie

November 1, 2013 #

Those fabrics are FANTASTIC. I’m seeing pillows for me and my mom and my mother-in-law in that nuthatch print.

nina athanasiadou

November 1, 2013 #

I just looove the patterns of the fabric. In Greece where i live its very difficult to find such a variety… I would make a dress for me and one for my daughter!!!

Maryall

November 1, 2013 #

I love the colours and the prints – so fresh! I’d sew some nice dresses for my daughter :)

November 1, 2013 #

Because they put a bird on it! (Many birds…)

sangeetha

November 1, 2013 #

Love the vibrancy of the designs – beautiful. I am not sure what I would do. On one front, these would make amazing organic clothes for the kids, on the other front, they are gorgeous, so maybe be selfish and keep for myself?

Kristin

November 1, 2013 #

I’m excited about the collection because the prints are just so cute! With five yards, I would maybe make a couple of knit t-shirts, or either use the cotton poplin to make a quirky dress.

Jenny

November 1, 2013 #

I wrote a blog post in 2008 stating that the world needed Charley Harper fabric. I’m a HUGE fan. I even made a Harper-inspired quilt (Peril in the Petunias) for my son’s nursery. Five yards of lovely cotton covered with Charley’s birds would make an awesome full-skirted dress! I would probably use my tried-and-true free dress pattern from the V&A Museum’s “Golden Age of Couture” exhibit.

Michelle

November 1, 2013 #

I love Charley Harper’s art! I collect anything with his art on it for my kids.

Michelle

November 1, 2013 #

I might make pj’s for the kids if I had 5 yards.

Ainsley

November 1, 2013 #

The poplin in Red Eye Viero would be so fun! And with 5 yards you could make so many things – I think it’d be awesome to make Christmas presents with (maybe pajamas for my sister?) and it would such a fun Laurel.

Alexandra P.

November 1, 2013 #

It’s such a beautiful collection … I love the birds, the retro feel and the colours. It would be very hard to make a choice.
And 5 yards, that would make (at least) a dress, some tops and every little leftover scrappy piece would be saved for a nice quilt.

Amanda

November 1, 2013 #

Gorgeous fab rics! I’m exited to possibly be able to sew with some of it. I would definitely make a dress.

Dawn Simon

November 1, 2013 #

oh my goodness I love Charlie Harper to no end. I have a couple of his prints and have been waiting for the fabric to come out.
I think I would make a couple dresses for my girls and maybe a pillow or two for the couch.

Emily

November 1, 2013 #

Wow, what a great giveaway! I’d love to make leggings and/or a wrap sweater from the knit fabric.

Lauren

November 1, 2013 #

Yes I love their fabrics. I would most likely make clothes.

Kate F.

November 1, 2013 #

I love the Birch collection because of it’s simplicity- even though it has a nature theme which when you think about it is incredibly complex! Either way, I love it.

5 yards- 1 1/2- skirt for me (going to have to be shorter I realize that)
1 1/2 yard- skirt my 10 year old daughter
1 yard- skirt of my 7 year old daughter
1 yard- dress for my 4 year old

…or…

5 yards- a quilt for all of us to share!

Melissa

November 1, 2013 #

Too cute! The designs are cute & right up my alley. Depending on the feel & drape I would either make a dress or a quilt w/ my 5 yards.

Janet

November 1, 2013 #

I love Charly Harper’s artwork. I would make a dress, curtain valance for my sewing room and if there was any fabric left over I would use if to make a bag lining or pillow. Thanks for the opportunity to apply for the giveaway!

Liz Collins

November 1, 2013 #

These prints are so bright and cheerful. They would make a great dress.

Adriene

November 1, 2013 #

I am excited about the Charley Harper fabrics because they are something fresh & new tondesign with! If I won 5 yards I would use it to customize a padded headboard for my nephew’s first “big boy” bed. Transitioning will be a lot less scary with a newly decorated, cool big boy room :)

Basya Spiliakos

November 1, 2013 #

1) The Chanukah prints! And the birds!

2) Dust covers for my menorah and Chanukah platters and glasses? A bag? A structured skirt? A million and two things.

Debbie Iles

November 1, 2013 #

Oh I am so excited about such gorgeous prints in knits! And organic to boot! I have three small daughters aged 2-5yrs so it is pretty obvious what I would turn my five yards into – gorgeous pyjamas for our hot Australian summer, pretty little shorts and t-shirts, sun dresses. I would have the best dressed girls around! :-))))

Diane @ Vintage Zest

November 1, 2013 #

A dress! I need to incorporate more prints into my wardrobe, and these would be just perfect!

Deb Cameron

November 1, 2013 #

Oh I can’t wait to have some of the Charley Harper Canvas – definitely would make a few bags if I were to win! They would be conversation pieces for sure :-)

carlalissa

November 1, 2013 #

My daughter is addicted to his designs fro a few years back… therefore I like them too. Wow 5 yards of fabric is like heaven on earth! I will certainly go for knit and do a dress and hopefully enough left over for a shirt! What a thoughtful give away…thank you very much!

Jen

November 1, 2013 #

I love that the prints are cute but not gender-specific, plus I really love that they come in more than just a cotton woven – the knit and canvas are wonderful additions.

If I won 5 yards I’d have to make something for my girls to wear, since it’s hard to find matching things for a small 7 year-old and a 13 year-old who is a woman’s size 2. If there were leftovers I’d even make something for my 2 year-old niece.

Shannon

November 1, 2013 #

Oh, what could I do with a cute 5 yards!

Emily C

November 1, 2013 #

I would make a skirt.

Tatiana

November 1, 2013 #

I would love to make a nice wrap dress with a knit fabric, those prints for knit fabrics are gorgeous!

Chloe Read

November 1, 2013 #

I am excited about this collection because I could easily make things for the kids or things for me from it – not many prints straddle that gap, plus gorgeous organic knits are so hard to find! I would use the five yards to make t-shirts and pyjamas and maybe a soft knit infinity scarf for me too!

Lisa S.

November 1, 2013 #

That color palette is amazing! The prints are so charming! I would probably start with a dress or skirt for myself, then maybe some throw pillows and then a cute little outfit for my God Daughter.

LM

November 1, 2013 #

1. the prints are to die for! i LOVE every single one :)
2. I would make a nice flannel shirt dress! i can only imagine how pretty it would be! thank you so much!

Helen

November 1, 2013 #

The fabric is fun! With 5 yards Hmmm. So many beautiful things to make. What I would make first is a dress, then an apron and pj bottoms.

Laura Woods

November 1, 2013 #

I love the colours and patterns of the fabrics, I have quilted for many years, but I would love to make myself something to wear, so if I won 5 yards of fabric I would buy myself a pattern from Colette and get the sewing machine fired up and off I’d go!

Grace

November 1, 2013 #

YAY! YAY! Charlie Harper KNITS! YAY!

Katie Emma

November 1, 2013 #

I love that the designs will be available in so many fabric choices! I haven’t tried knits yet so if I won I might get some knits and try to make some awesome t-shirts. Or a Hawthorne in a peppy print would be so cute!

Marlys

November 1, 2013 #

I love the Charley Harper collection–it’s so colorful and in a modern, fun palette. I also love that many of the fabrics have a smaller pattern with birds or other objects breaking that up. Just awesome.

I would definitely create a classy dress. Something for winter, but that has that pop of color!

Margo

November 1, 2013 #

I love Charley Harper! With 5 fabrics, I would like to make a pair of flannel pjs for me!!

Maxine

November 1, 2013 #

I knew who Charley Harper was, but didn’t know that I knew. I still have a 2008 datebook from Barnes and Noble with the “Green Jay” print on the cover. What would I make? I need to get back to sewing clothes, so I’d pick prints with that in mind.

Kathryn

November 1, 2013 #

ORGANIC! And I love Charley Harper. Not sure what I would make; it would depend on the print chosen, but I wouldn’t have to think about it for long!

April

November 1, 2013 #

I have quite a few Charley Harper books and I just love his illustrations. Now to be able to sew with them? I’m so very excited! I would make some clothes for my kids and then a simple quilt or blanket.

Jacoba Hughes

November 1, 2013 #

1. I love those prints! They are stunning.
2. It is coming into summer here in Australia, so I’d make myself a lovely cotton dress!
