Congratulations are in order!
This is a bittersweet post to write today.
I’ll start with the very happy news. I’m excited to announce that Caitlin is having a baby! I am so very excited for her and know that she is going to be one incredible bunny-knitting mama.
And now, the bittersweet part for me. Caitlin is leaving her position at Colette Patterns. Though the circumstances couldn’t be happier for her, of course we will miss her greatly both in the studio and here on the blog.
Caitlin has been with us over two years and has seen the business grow from a bootstrapped one-woman show run out of my kitchen to a bustling and multi-faceted business. And she has been a big part of that growth, sewing countless stitches, photographing, writing tutorials, planning photo shoots, going fabric shopping, hanging cat calendars, spraypainting tables in my driveway, bringing flowers from her garden, and being a wonderful friend. She’s not only put a lot of work into Colette Patterns, she’s been an incredible creative influence.
I’d like to share a few photos from one day last summer. Caitlin suggested we take a break and pick some wildflowers outside for the office. You should never be too busy to pick a few summer wildflowers, and I will always remember that now.
And here is a picture of Caitlin putting random stuff on her head.
Please, let’s all say thanks to Caitlin for her incredible contributions here and wish her well in this new phase of life!

Wow Caitlin, congratulations on the next exciting phase of your life!
I have 2 sons and my oldest will be taking his driving test to get his license on Wednesday!
I am now entering a totally different phase! Yours is the most precious! Stay in the moment if you can- those sleepless nights, although they may seem LONG go by in an instant! I am not kidding! My oldest son Kenny went from 21 inches to 6 feet practically overnight!!! I envy you, just starting your path- it is an exciting journey- enjoy every twist and turn. I wish I would have been able to have met you in person, your fun exuberant personality comes thru on the blog and thru e-mails, but in person is so much more fun!!!!!

Congratulations and best wishes. BTW, I have three of those beings, parenthood is both exhilarating and challenging. I recommend you just enjoy, ask for help when you need it, accept it even if you don’t think you do and the rest just falls into place.

I discovered Coletterie patterns just under a year ago, when I bought the book. I discovered the website a little later, and have just recently bought three patterns. I am incredibly impressed with the website, and find the hints to be very clearly presented, and of a very high standard. I gather that a fair bit if this is credited to Caitlin, so you will be missed!
Congratulations! Babies are a delight, and deserve to be welcomed with love. I’m sure that this little person will enjoy wearing all sorts of handcrafted garments – what a lucky baby!!
