Happy Thanksgiving

One dreary and wet evening last week, I was leaving Colette Patterns World HQ to head home for the night when I had one of those moments of spontaneous and pure gratitude. This year has been challenging for me, though in a very good way. They have been the kinds of challenges that stretch your abilities and get you going in new directions. Nevertheless, I’ll be frank and say I’ve been stressed.

Colette Patterns has been busy (yay!), so much so that I’ve brought in some wonderful people to help out, moved into a separate workspace, and outsourced our shipping to a local company. I’ve also been working on another project for CP that has become almost a second full time job. And then there are some big personal things, not the least of which is we’ve been trying to buy a house! These are all wonderful things, but they have a way of stretching me thin.

But that evening, I just couldn’t help but feel excited and grateful that I have this business, and this life. I work with the most wonderful people imaginable, in a city I love, in a beautiful studio, doing something I am passionately interested in and excited about. My customers are kind and caring, my partner is way beyond supportive, my family is wonderful (if far away), and my friends are warm, creative, and inspiring. I feel deeply blessed in this life.

With that said, I just want to send a thank you to everyone who reads this, all of our customers, and especially to the people who help me day to day: Kenn, my husband, web developer, logistics guy, customer service, and cocktail-maker; Caitlin, my right hand lady, who I truly couldn’t do this without; Rachel, my wonderfully creative and smart wholesale liason; Our bloggers Lisa and Carrie; my beautiful and talented models Jade, Amber, Kiaha, and Carlie; and my friend/photographer, Lisa.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thats so wonderful to hear. It inspires me to see your company do so well, and now that I’ve completed the Macaron dress, and found it such a pleaser, I tell all my sewing friends to check out your site….. and also to definitely buy one! ; ) I look forward to more Colette patterns!

All that stress is worth it! You ended up creating your own successful business. I haven’t read a bad review about your patterns, and I think that it says a lot!

Thank you!
