New stuff tomorrow!

Just a little note to remind you that we have two new patterns coming tomorrow! Tune in at noon pacific and they’ll be waiting for you.

I’ve also been hard at work on a little extra that I’ll reveal. It’s a bit of an experiment, a new sort of project for me, but one I think will be helpful in your sewing. Because it’s so new, there will be super special pricing for you guys on it for the first day or so, so definitely be here tomorrow for that!

PS: Aren’t those roses so pretty? Summer is winding down in my yard, but these roses are going strong.

I have to say I think you have a beautiful blog and all the info it contains I have referred to time and time again. I absolutely love your inspiration pieces and I cannot say enough about your snippets, patterns and book. Truth is, I just wanted to thank you. I appreciate that all of you care as much for the craft of sewing as I do.

PS. have to completely agree with Rebecca above. This is the most helpful sewing blog I have found. I wish I’d known about it a couple of years ago when I started sewing. Thank you for the inspiration, the tips, the quality, everything!

Hi there….very much looking forward to seeing what you’ve brewed up in your creative collective this time around. Do you happen to know what variety of roses you have there? They look so sweetly old-fashioned. Thanks for the continuous inspiration!

They’re called “Easy Does It.” They live up to their name, they are extremely easy to grow. And they’re a gorgeous color, self cleaning, fragrant, and have prolific blooms!

My guess is that the extra surprise is that some of your older patterns have been converted to downloadable PDF

Tatiana

September 13, 2012 #

Sarai, I would love to see the older patterns converted to PDF, specially the Crepe dress! I don’t like working with paper patterns, and I love to work with PDF patterns… Also, living in Brazil everything takes ages to arrive! I will keep my fingers crossed, I just can’t wait!

I’m so surprised to hear this because I hate pdf patterns! I tried to use one once, and printing it out (on computer paper), then pasting it together was a really miserable experience. I much prefer thin tissue. How do you make it work?

Sarai

September 13, 2012 #

I think it’s just a matter of preference, which is why we want to give everyone a choice. Especially those outside of the US who have to deal with shipping and customs.

We’re trying to get everything PDF-ified right now. It is a ton of work! The most popular patterns (like Crepe) will be among the first.

September 14, 2012 #

No, no, I think it’s great if people like it… I’m just wondering if I am missing some technique to make it much easier than tissue patterns (I guess the reusible aspect is nice). I was wondering if I could rig up my projector, tape some dresspaper to a wall, and trace it, but you would have to be really careful to get the scale right!

Ohh, I go into work right when you are scheduled to release the patterns! I’ll be back here tomorrow for sure!! So excited!

Hurrah! They’re here and gorgeous as expected! I LOVE the Anise jacket. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for and my husband has just looked and said “that’s very you!”.

Right, off to purchase the Anise companion now, before nipping onto some UK sites to see if they’re selling the patterns yet!

Thank you!
