Portland event: Signing & fabric chat at Powell’s Books, Sun Nov. 20

I am extremely excited to announce that my first official bookstore signing will be at the world famous Powell’s Books here in Portland!

I didn’t want to just do a spiel about the book and sign copies. I was inspired by my friend Amy when she told me she had a cake walk at her signing! I definitely wanted to make it fun.

So I thought, how about a little fabric swap? I’ll talk a bit about the fabric section in the book, and I’m even thinking about making you guys some little “fabric guidebooks” to take home.

You bring some of the fabric that’s been cluttering up your stash, and go home with something new to inspire your sewing. Sounds good to me! This is going to be a relaxed and casual little event, more a chance to meet each other than anything else.

Please bring usable pieces of fabric rather than teeny scraps, and don’t bring more than what would easily fit in a grocery bag.

This sounds delightful. Oh, how I wish you would “tour” your book and come to the Midwest–Madison, WI area!

Portland isn’t so far away from Olympia, I think I see a road trip in my future!
