Reminder: Laurel contest ends next week!
Just a quick reminder before the weekend starts that the Laurel Sewing Contest ends at the end of the month!
This pattern is such a quick make, there’s definitely still time to download the pattern and whip something up. Do it for the many awesome prizes, or do it just for fun.
By the way, it has come to our attention that some photos in the Flickr group are not tagged. If you want to enter the contest, you must include the tag for the category or categories you are entering. I posted about it on the group here, if you need a reminder about how to tag a photo.
When the contest ends, I’ll be posting nominees for the reader’s choice category, so stay tuned for that even if you’re not sewing!

Hum, I don’t have time to sew (for me) just now… I don’t think I will manage to sew something in time for the contest, but I will share my version(s) of this pattern, no doubt!
I’ll take time to look at everyones Laurel, have fun everybody!

I can’t believe how fast this month has gone. I’ve had the pattern sitting on the table and the fabric prewashed for weeks. Hopefully, I can eek out enough time in the next couple of days.

I am going to sew today! I had tendon repair surgery last week and yesterday I used my scooter to scoot around as I cut out the fabric yesterday. I am anxious to add it to my wardrobe, since the weather is starting to get warm enough to wear it here in Iowa.

This has been so inspirational. I have really loved making this pattern my own and seeing the incredible things that some people have done. I feel as though each of the Laurel’s I’ve done have been different parts of my personality, Sweet and Innocent, Hardworking and Creative, Rock and Roll, and even Sophisticated and Classy.
Are you thinking about doing another contest with the release of your future patterns? While I can’t speak for everyone, this contest has been so much fun. Seeing other people’s work and especially having a deadline really lit a fire for me and got the creative juices pumping. I think that it was an ingenious idea.
And after all, win or lose I have some fabulous new additions to my wardrobe!
