Seamwork Radio: The “head stuff” with Felicia Semple

Felicia Semple is the creator of The Craft Sessions, an incredible sewing retreat she created to help teach women to find joy and meaning – not perfection – in the practice of craft. In this episode, I talk to Felicia about her path to creating the sewing retreat she dreamed of, and how the “head stuff” around sewing and creating has affected her life.

Felicia had difficulty connecting with other women as she entered a new life stage. In her case, it was entering motherhood. But we’ve all felt that pain, whether in a new job, a move, a new school, or entering retirement.

But that changed when she began connecting to other women through craft.

The question I have today is: Do you think there are certain types of people that are more drawn to craft? And do you find it easier to connect with them?

I believe that the sewing community is a great way to make friends who have a shared interests, have conversations and learn new things. They are the nicest of people! Since moving, the Bay Area Sewist meet ups have been a great social and educational connector!
