What kind of fabric did you use? For this Ginger skirt (my fourth!) I used a piece of heavy gabardine I found in my stash box – it’s of unidentified fiber content and at least ten years old! I made the Jasmine blouse in a cheap polyester gauze; it was difficult to work with, but I’m just nuts about the print!

How did you decide to reflect your personal style in the pattern? The fabric I chose for the blouse had a retro feel to me, which I felt fit my style and the style of the pattern. I made the skirt specifically to go with this blouse, and felt that the pointed waistband of Version 1 nicely mirrored the neckline of the Jasmine blouse.

What thoughts do you have about the project? Although it’s quite wearable, I considered the blouse to be my muslin. I made no changes, but the next time (and there will be a next time!) I’ll make the sleeve cuffs slightly looser. I generally don’t have to do any fitting on tops, and the fit of this bias cut blouse is truly flattering.

Thanks, Gail!

Lovely blouse! I agree, the cuff tends to run tight. It’s such an easy fix, but you do need to catch it before you get the sleeve contstructed.

Well, that did it. I’ve been waffling about buying this pattern, and Gail’s beautiful rendition of the Jasmine convinced me. Ordered and waiting! Great job and thanks for the inspiration!
