Her post about the dress: Crepe Dress for Warm Fall Days

What kind of fabric did you use? For the Crepe dress, I used organic cotton by Cloud 9. The “Variegated Butterflies” print has a fabulous 70s vibe. I thought this would serve as a nice counterpoint to the vintage feel of the pattern.

How did you decide to reflect your personal style in the pattern? I have somewhat of an eclectic personal style. I like to mix vintage styles with modern prints and cuts, so I tried to do the same with the Crepe dress I made by selecting an eye-catching print to go with the fitted cut of the dress. I also wanted to sew a dress I could wear to transition from summer into fall.

What thoughts do you have about the project? There are so many lovely details in this pattern, but my favorite has to be the pockets. As a mom of a 6 and a 4 year old, pockets are essential items on garments. They are more than just a nicety or a simple detail for me. Since the Crepe dress has generous-sized pockets, I can store not only my essentials (keys, phone, lipgloss…) but also the small items my children are constantly asking me to hold for them (a toy car, a crumpled note, rocks…). It is nice to be able to have these all within the folds of the skirt dress without the contents making the garment look bulky.

Thanks, Jeanne!

I have that pattern and fabric ready to cut out, and I can’t wait. I very much like your choice of fabric, and love the shoes!
